I’m a Certified DONA Doula, CAPPA Childbirth Educator, Doula Trainer, and owner of the Motherhood Healing Collective. Together, we have over 10 years of experience centering maternal health, facilitating childbirth education classes, and building motherhood community through our mom group, The Motherhood Moon Circle. Culturally speaking, Black women have always had companions with non-medical training, like mothers and aunts, providing emotional support and comfort during pregnancy. Doulas are similar to these companions. Having the support of a Doula can prepare a family for some of the challenges they may experience as people of color. Collectively, we are committed to helping elevate the black pregnant family's experiences by supporting them throughout their pregnancy and childbirth.
